Nicholas and Nicky have a love that radiates. I couldn’t help but say, “You guys are too cute!!” at our first meeting. I couldn’t wait to be a part of their UBC Farm wedding. We had a really wonderful time at their engagement session at Burnaby Village Museum (vintage carousel!) and I just knew the wedding was going to be amazing.
From a dreamy blush wedding gown to personalized cakes on every table, this wedding was magical. With help from Jayleen Deelman, this couple’s vision came to life with so many unique and personal touches.
The ceremony was out of a fairy tale. It was my first time photographing a ceremony in the Poplar grove at UBC Farm. It was everything I hoped it would be and more. See for yourself, it’s jaw dropping-ly beautiful. The reception details were thoughtful and meaningful to the bride and groom. It was pretty incredible! The cakes were one of my favourite parts, each with a different television show they love.
(Side note: Nick and Nicky recommended I watch Firefly, and I’m about to watch the season finale after I finished making this blog post. I binge watched it this week, why the heck did they cancel it?! I realize now after a quick google search, that I am 15 years behind on this television tragedy. Sigh. For anyone who hasn’t seen it, it’s on Netflix right now ;P )
The dance floor was burning up (I couldn’t help but bust out a couple of dance moves in between shots) and I got some pretty memorable photos.
Special thanks to the talented Karen Tallevi for shooting this one with me. Loved having her creative eye join me this summer.
Please contact me if you are planning a magical UBC Farm wedding, I would love to hear from you!
