Such a sweet little border collie, and she loved the beach so much!  I am quite in love with her really.

I met my sister, her friend and Abby at White Rock to take a few photos of them. I love the East beach, it’s way less crowded.

Kelsey and Graham are such sweet and happy people, and you can see in every photo just how much they love each other, and how excited they are to start their family. Totally amazing and beautiful people, inside and out!

Funny thing about this day, it was the day of the Sun Run in Vancouver, and I almost didn’t make it to the session on time! There were a ton of runners in my way whenever I made a turn. But I finally made it there with Kelsey and Graham’s guidance (they live downtown, opposed to me who lives way out in Langley and apparently doesn’t know my way around the Sun Run route). It is pretty crazy, in some of the photos, you can see a hoard of runners way in the background. Now that’s pretty cool, I think.

Ryan has crazy sleeves done and Michelle has a tattoo on her foot by the same artist. I have a few tattoos myself, but I hardly ever get the opportunity to photograph people with ink. And as always, LOVE for Gastown. So much character.

Why are your Glamour sessions more expensive than your boudoir sessions?

There are a couple differences between my Glamour and Boudoir sessions.

Glamour marathons includes professional hair and makeup. This adds about 45 minutes to our time together, therefore we are unable to do as many sessions in one day. It is, of course, a higher fee for my makeup artist to do hair as well.

Editing is more labour intensive. Once you leave your session, I spend hours perfecting your images in post production. That’s right, hours. I show only edited photographs to my clients in their viewing gallery, so even the images you do not choose for your disc, are edited to perfection.

I do edit and retouch my boudoir session images, but I generally do the editing after my client chooses her favourites.

Why is the disc so expensive?

The disc. Yes, why is the disc so expensive?  You may ask, why are prints cheaper than the digital image? It doesn’t cost you anything! I will tell you now, that the disc is extremely valuable.

Let’s take a look at how photographers used to run a business. They used to shoot everything on film, develop the photographs into 4×6 proofs, and you would choose your favourites to be printed into the sizes you want from the negatives.

Photographers would not sell the negatives, or they would, but for a very high fee.  If you can imagine, the negatives were their “backup files” of your photographs. If you ever decided down the road, that you wanted another photograph from the collection, they would be paid for and printed from those same negatives. So if the photographer sold you the negatives, and you lost them, that’s it! There would be no way for you to get more copies. Nowadays, I could make 100 copies of the “negative” and it would not damage the integrity of the shot.

If you receive the disc from me, I am basically handing over the “negative” and it will never expire. You could make a hundred copies of that image digitally, back it up, and never lose it. Plus, I back everything up twice on my end. Your images are always in 2-3 places at once, in case of a hard drive crash. I do charge a small replacement fee if you lose the disc, but if you don’t, you will never come back to me to purchase more. Once I sell the disc, that sale is over. You have the power to make as many prints as you want! So you can see how valuable the disc is. If you value the service your photographer is putting on that disc for you, pay for that service.

I love putting real, hard copy prints and products into my clients’ hands, but if you want the disc, I won’t deny it from you. I want you to be extremely happy with your decision to do a session with me, and I work very hard to ensure this.

I have changed the package price of these sessions to better suit you.
You want the disc? Of course you do! So I’m going to give it to you! Plus I have limited the day to only 3 sessions to make sure that each girl gets the proper attention and time with us.

The session is now $395 + tax and that includes:

- Professional Hair and Makeup

- 1 hour session with Danielle

- Disc of 10 fully retouched and edited photographs for you to print as you wish
